**Spoiler alert! If you haven't yet read A Collection of Scars, I would recommend skipping this post!**
After working around eighteen months on it, I'm excited to announce that the sequel to A Collection of Scars will be launching...
September 18th, 2023
And it's title?
A Burden of Love
Slave. Master. Rebel. Fugitive.
Now husband and wife, Yonah and Naris do all they can to present themselves as the perfect couple. As a new slave master, Yonah must learn how to maneuver the politics of the upper class. What Naris doesn't know is that not only is Yonah lying about her true feelings for her husband, but she is also contributing to the rebellion by using their home as a safe house for slaves escaping Harasa.
Yonah can only guess what Naris might do to her if he were to discover her betrayal. All she knows is that her luck will eventually run out, and she will once again be an enemy to the government. Yonah is more than willing to risk a lifetime of imprisonment or re-enslavement for the sake of ending slavery in Harasa, but her husband is the type of man who likes to take justice into his own hands.
Can Naris' love protect Yonah from his wrath?
This novel is the second installment in the A Collection of Scars trilogy.
If you're new around here, A Collection of Scars is the first installment in the ACoS trilogy, and can be purchased here. The ACoS trilogy is a new-adult dystopian fiction set in the land of Harasa, telling the story of a twisted relationship between a slave and her master, all with a rebellion brewing in the background.
You'll enjoy A Collection of Scars if you like slow-burn relationships, emotional tension, and questions of power, authority, and love.
Putting together A Burden of Love has been so fun because I've gotten to dig deeper into the Yonah-Naris relationship. At the heart of it, that's what the A Collection of Scars trilogy is about: Yonah and Naris.
What's new in this sequel? You'll get to meet a few more characters, explore new settings, and experience more action.
Want more of what you loved in the first book? Don't worry, there's plenty of Yonah and Naris, fun world-building, and emotional conflict.
