I Just celebrated the release of A Burden of Love with an in-person launch party!
In a word, it was WONDERFUL.
The launch party event took place at the McNally Robinson bookstore in Saskatoon in a little alcove in the store. So many people came out that staff had to bring out more chairs!
After a brief introduction by the event coordinator, I shared how the A Collection of Scars trilogy came to be, and read part of the prologue from A Burden of Love. I was nervous about speaking and reading my book out loud - I’ve done it to my phone camera several times before, but doing it with actual human beings in the room staring at you is a whole other thing.
After the live reading, I answered some questions - There were several really great questions!! Yay! - and then I signed books!
The event coordinator told me afterwards that they sold around ten copies of both A Collection of Scars and A Burden of Love! Thanks to everyone in this email newsletter that made a purchase this weekend!
It was so amazing getting to meet fans of my books that I’d never met before. I’m so grateful to those of you who came out simply because you’ve enjoyed what I’ve written!
Like I said, it was a wonderful night. I can’t wait to do it again for book three!
